I keep a room closed within; The key I hide from all men. I want for no one this room to find, For it holds secrets of the inner mind. Thoughts too deep to reveal; Emotions only I can feel. It is a special part of me, Wond'ring who I am and who I'll be. This room holds thoughts of tomorrow, A few of which I did borrow From people such as I Who will dream as life goes by. Dreams are kept away in here, Some at times are hard to bear. Others are dreams never to pass, Only to be gathered at the last. Thoughts continue to grow each day, Devouring those in the way. To myself these chose thoughts I keep, For as I said, they are too deep. © 1986 Kelly L. Hartley
