Time To Carry On
It's time to carry, to carry on A life of which no one has sung. A life of our own, for us to share With those of whom we really care. A life of boredom, a life of strife, A life of happiness and might. A life whose dreams must carry on A life of events, both right and wrong. We often wonder how it will end, And so does everybody's friend. But what about after-after we're gone, Will there be written a memorial song? Of course not, it can never be, A song written for you or me, For life is happy and life is grand, But so many people in all the land! Birds are free to live and die, But can one answer the reason why? We live in the times of the higher mind, But what about those who are left behind? It's time to carry, to carry on A life of which no one has sung. A life of our own, for us to share With those of whom we really care. © 1986 Kelly L. Hartley
